Protest Against the ‘Israel is Forever’ Gala in Paris Featuring Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich
Thomas Portes:
“While the Israeli government is executing genocide inGaza, I ask the Paris police Prefect to ban the “Israel isForever” gala, scheduled in Paris on November 13 inthe presence of the Israeli Finance Minister, BezalelSmotrich, who
finds it moral to let the inhabitants ofGaza die of hunger. France cannot accept thepresence of a war criminal on its soil”.
Brussels – October 13, 2024
The European-Palestinian Initiative to Against Apartheid and Settlement has announced the completion of preparations for the European Conference Against Apartheid, Settlement, and Genocide, which will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on Saturday, October 19.
The conference organizing committee stated that a wide range of European political and human rights figures will participate, including members of the European and local parliaments, representatives of institutions and organizations, and activists from European civil society. In addition, Palestinian and Arab personalities, as well as activists from various academic, media, and economic sectors, will be present.
The organizing committee emphasized that the conference aims to launch a European campaign against Israeli apartheid, settlement policies, and genocide. It seeks to build a European-Palestinian-Arab coalition to end apartheid and settler colonialism, focusing on three main tracks: political, legal, and civil society. These efforts will aim to pressure European governments and parliaments to take practical positions against Israeli apartheid and colonial occupation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, to support the recognition of the State of Palestine, and to push for accountability of the apartheid Israeli state in the International Criminal Court, the International Court of Justice, and European courts.
